Antonio F. Miguel

I currently hold the position of Associate Professor at the School of Sciences and Technology, University of Évora, Portugal, and I am a research scientist at the Institute of Earth Sciences (Évora Pole). Additionally, I lead—jointly with Luiz Rocha—the Complex Flow Systems Lab.

My previous appointments include Visiting Professor at WU-R, the Netherlands (2000–2008), and Visiting Fellow at the University of Reading, UK (2001). Furthermore, I served as a Deputy Contact for the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) from 2013 to 2015.

I contribute to the academic community as an associate editor and editorial board member for several Scopus-indexed journals, including Frontiers in Physics, Case Studies in Thermal Engineering, Energies, Fluids, Heliyon, Research on Engineering Structures and Materials, International Journal of Hydromechatronics, and the International Journal of Exergy. My publications include three books (Springer, 2004 and 2018; UNIL, 2006) and over 100 peer-reviewed articles.

Throughout my career, I have received various awards and distinctions, including 'Editor of the Year' and recognition for conference contributions. I have actively participated in international conferences as a general co-chair, special session chair, and scientific advisory board member.

 

I have been consistently ranked by Stanford University (USA) among the top 2% of the most influential scientists worldwide in my field since 2020, appearing in both the 'Lifetime Scientific Influence' and 'Annual Scientific Influence' rankings.
